09:00The Big Try – Salisbury’s Biggest Rugby-Themed Fundraiser!
Get ready to lace up your boots and join friends for Salisbury Hospice Charity’s newest and most exciting event, The Big Try, taking place on Saturday 14th March.
Participants will tackle an 8-mile rugby-themed sponsored walk through Salisbury’s iconic landscape. Along the way, you’ll experience the camaraderie, laughter, rivalry, and pride that make rugby so special, all while celebrating the magic of the Six Nations.
The Big Try is proudly supported by Richard Hill MBE, England Rugby Men’s Team Manager, and Cadan Murley, England & Harlequins winger. In the lead-up to the event and on the day itself, you’ll receive insights, encouragement, and fitness tips — making it feel like the pros are right there in your scrum.
Every mile walked will make a real difference, helping Salisbury Hospice continue to provide comfort, dignity, and personalised care to local people when life gets toughest.
Walkers can also enjoy a free pasty and pint stop at Salisbury Rugby Club before heading back to City Hall to watch live screenings of not one, not two, but THREE Six Nations games.
Whether you’re joining for the rugby, the walk, the match-day atmosphere, or simply the pint at the end, The Big Try is your chance to be part of something bigger than the game. Every step supports Salisbury Hospice Charity, helping local families when it matters most.
